The Colorado Farm and Food Alliance’s Local Food (and Beverage) Action Maps

What is a “foodshed”?

We are mapping nodes in the local food network, organized by local river basins. And whether you're looking to connect with a local group working to strengthen food security, support area farmers or get fresh food to people needing a meal, or you’re a resident or visitor looking to buy fresh produce directly from a nearby farm and exploring local culinary options: these maps provide that information at your fingertips.

We focus on river basins of the Western Slope of Colorado; the Gunnison River Basin, the Central Colorado River Basin, the Upper Colorado River Basin, and the Dolores River Basin.

What are the Local Food Action Maps?

Our local food action maps display nonprofits focused on the food system, food-sharing and nutrition program locations and support organizations, along with local farm markets and food and beverage businesses that prioritize local products.

The four main categories on each map are act, eat, drink and buy local.

Act Local lists nonprofits that are working on local food issues as well as hunger relief organizations and food banks.

Eat Local you will find restaurants and bakeries that sources local ingredients for their dishes.

Drink Local we have wineries, breweries, distilleries and coffee roasters.

Buy Local you will find places you can purchase local food such as grocery stores, farm stands and farmers markets.

Each map provides information about those included on the map, such as their specialties, operating hours, and contact details. Information on the map is compiled from public sources and no money, goods or services are requested or exchanged. If you know of a group or business that might belong on the map, please follow the link below or send us a note though our web contact form.
