Local Food Networks & Small Farm Support

Prosperous farms that support operators and workers are at the root of secure, equitable and resilient food systems.

Food security relies on and should support a well-rooted network of farms, markets, chefs, workers and food-consumers.

The Colorado Farm & Food Alliance serves to identify, understand, and support the small farms and local food networks of the Gunnison River region and western Colorado.

2024 Update

The biggest news is the addition of an AmeriCorps Member, though Mountain Roots Healthy Futures program, to support our work to boost small farms, food security and regenerative agriculture in the valley. And we are so happy to welcome Sarsa Buck into that role.

Lauren continues to keep our Local Food Action Maps updated, where you can learn more about local food systems in western Colorado - including where you can act local, eat and drink local, and support our local food growers and producers.

And we are evolving our Plant - a - Row project to better coordinate with partenrs in the valley doing similar work. We look forward to helping organize more ways for the community to be involved, accessing nutritious food or pitching in to help keep eachother fed.

Nourish Community.
